STOP SPOT AND GULFLINK

TCE Fund is actively engaged in a community-driven campaign to stop two major deepwater crude oil export facilities proposed offshore of Brazoria County.

The Seaport Oil Terminal (SPOT), a project of Enbridge and Enterprise Products, would be located 35 miles offshore from Surfside Beach, and would be capable of loading VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) ships with up to 2 million barrels of crude per day. Texas Gulflink, proposed by Sentinel Midstream, would be built 30 miles offshore of Freeport, and include 700,000-barrel storage tanks near Jones Creek. The projects not only present a major new risk of more oil spills in Gulf waters, but also include nearly 100 miles of proposed new local pipelines that threaten fragile coastal wetlands and the Brazos River Watershed, a drinking water supply for thousands of people.
